DoubleDown Casino is a play-money casino: you spend virtual chips, you cannot cash anything out, and the operator says it is for adults only (21+ on its own site, 18+ on the App Store). If gambling-style games are a problem for you, skip it and read our responsible gambling page instead.
The question is week three, not day one
Almost every social casino looks generous on the first night. What we wanted to know is whether DoubleDown still gives you a reason to open it after three weeks. We built this review from the operator's own pages, its App Store listing and an independent review, and we did not pay anything to it. Where the sources disagree, we say so.
The first night is easy. The App Store listing says new players start with 1,000,000 free chips, and the home page leads with free slots and casino games.
Where the free chips come from
The free-chips page lists a long menu. A bonus wheel on each day's first login, a bonus for visiting on consecutive days, an hourly time bonus that stacks higher if you wait, a gift for joining, and extra chips for push notifications, the email newsletter and the social channels. Limited-time events add "big chip prizes", in the page's words.

None of those pages print chip amounts, which tells you the amounts move. The one number we can quote is the wheel's ceiling. At the entry White tier of the Diamond Club the top wheel prize is 2,000,000 chips, according to the club page, and it climbs with every tier.
The slot lobby, and why it ages well
The website claims over 300 online slots with more added every month. The App Store description says over 200. We would trust the lower number for the app, and the difference is probably the web and Facebook versions carrying extra titles.
The menu names several machines that anyone who has walked a casino floor will recognise: Wolf Run, Siberian Storm, Kitty Glitter, Golden Goddess and Lobstermania 2. Those are the kind of cabinet IGT built its name on, and Casino.org says the site uses IGT software. DoubleDown's own history explains why: IGT bought the company in 2012 and it was later sold on to the Korean group that now owns it.
